New in the Classic series is our book on the Fairey Swordfish. A product of the interbellum, the Swordfish finds itself in between the era of the biplane and the aircraft designed for the Second World War. The Swordfish was a carrier-borne torpedo bomber and first flew in the Spring of 1934. A total of 2.391 were built, 692 by Fairey and 1.699 by
Blackburn. This 5th book in the series brings a complete portrait of the aircraft that became famous for the attacks on the Bismarck battleship and the port of Taranto. No detail is overlooked, from the wings, engine, cockpit and fuselage to the landing gear. Action photos of the two sole surviving Swordfish were possible thanks to a close collaboration with Navy Wings, based at Yeovilton, where the aircraft are kept in fantastic condition.

The Limited Edition Revell set of their new-tool Gloster Meteor F/8/FR.9 in 1/32 scale is now available! This set
includes the kit – which is clearly one of the best kits Revell has ever produced – masks, a poster, photo-etched parts
and our new book on the first generation jet fighter.

The book has 84 pages, some 200 photos of the Gloster Meteor F.8/FR.9, with some spectacular images of the
sole surviving airworthy F.8 in the world, which is also featured on the cover of the book. The book will be available
separately early in 2026.

If you read our blog every now and then, you know that next to making books, we also love to design special liveries for military aircraft. So, when we were contacted by the USAF’s 48th Fighter Wing to create a special design for a pair of F-15E Strike Eagles, we got really excited. The theme of the special jets was the 40th anniversary of Operation Eldorado Canyon, a mission from 1986 over Lybia. In those days, the Liberty Wing flew the F-111 Aardvark, so we thought it would be cool to paint the two Strike Eagles – one of the 492nd and one of the 494th Fighter Squadron in the colours of those F-111s: Vietnam camo over a black underside. The 494th jet of the Panthers got named “Karma 52”, the same as the sole jet that was lost during the 1986 operation. The crew’s names are also painted on the canopy frame. The first of the two jets was officially presented on April 28, 2026.

Making books on aircraft carriers presents an incredible opportunity but also a big challenge. When you finally get the green light to visit an aircraft, you only get limited time aboard. This can be from 1 to 4 days – if you get lucky. And you aren’t probably the only photo journalist invited, so you have to take that into account. Basically, you try to take as many photos of as many different parts of the aircraft, helicopters and of course the ship itself. The first book in this series was on the Spanish assault ship Juan Carlos I. We show you the harrier IIs on the ship, a series of helicopters – like the Sea King, Bell 212 and Cougar  – and the military vehicles that are brought to shore by the landing craft.
