Raymoco update sets

Every now and then, we stumble upon a new brand of update sets and this time we found a great one! Raymoco is a Canadian brand that presents some very interesting and highly detailed 3D printed update sets for aircraft models in 1/48.

These focus mainly on jets, like the F-4 Phantom II, F-16, F/A-18 Super Hornet, Harrier II or MiG-31 to name but a few. These sets can be engines on a dolly, radar systems, open avionics bays, … And what I really like about these sets is the very reasonable price of them.

The Raymoco sets are impressively detailed and give that extra level of detail that many modellers are looking for. You can open the radome of a model, but if there’s no detail in the kit, scratching all of it, will be quite a challenge. The Raymoco sets are quite complete and allow for minimal surgery on the kit. Looks like a lot of thought got into the design of the sets. I’m especially a fan of the engines on the dolly.

The J57-R-20A turbojet engine of an F-8 Crusader would go great with the Hasegawa kit in 1/48!

F-4 Phantom II

Aficionados of the F-4 Phantom II will be able to find the Raymoco sets pretty cool too! Here is an engine sitting on a dolly. Other sets for the Phantom include the radar, avionics and even an open spine.

engine of an F-15

And here’s a look at the engine of an F-15! If you have our book on the F-15E Strike Eagle – DH-026 – you can compare the engine to the real thing. And this set is looking good!!

Now if only we could convince Raymoco to also do one in 1/32 and 1/72….
