Hornet with open panels

My friend Wilfried Vandenvel is a prolific builder. And every now and then, he likes to go the extra mile, like with this 1/48 scale F/A-18C Hornet from Hasegawa. While the kit has a certain age, it is still a highly detailed one, but Wilfried added a lot of scratch building and resin update sets. He opened up the spine, detailed the gun bay, the gun, radar and all the avionics bays. He even detailed one engine, the engine bay and the bay doors! Wilfried painted the model in Swiss markings, which gives it quite a bit of colour! Another fantastic model in his collection!

Another impressive Streak

People seem to like the 1/72 scale F-84F Thunderstreak gift set we released in 2025 and we couldn’t be happier about that! Olivier Dekeyser sent us this photo of Thunderstreak FU-52 hat he recently built. Look at the great wethering on this kit and the very convincing base with the Nadar in front of it. It really motivates us to continue on this path of limited edition Gift Sets! Great work Olivier !!

Thunderstreak

Stéphane Poncelet chose one of the liveries in our 1/72 scale decal sheet for the thunderstreak to finish his Special Hobby kit. This jet carries the colours of a jet of the 10 Wing at Kleine Brogel Air Base in Belgium, back in 1972. It was one of the aircraft that participated at the Melsbroek airshow of that year. The Special Hobby kit builds into a pretty nice replica of the F-84F if you ask me. Really good job, Stéphane !

Phantastic Phantom

Atilla Aydemir sent us this photo of his fantastic looking F-4E Phantom II of the Turkish Air Force in 1/48 scale. Look at that exhaust and the titanium plates behind it! The kit is from Hasegawa and Atilla added detail from an Eduard set, resin exhausts and a pitot tube from Master. He used an Iwata CMB airbrush to freehand the camouflage. Phabulous !
