This book is the first in the series on a US Navy fighter jet, but definitely not the last. In order to include all versions of the “legacy” Hornet, we had to bring the pages up to 140. The photos included in this book show Hornets from the US Navy, US Marines, but also from the air forces of Canada, Spain, Australia, Switzerland, Finland and Malaysia. Every detail is included and we even bring a close-up of the F/A-18D ATARS, the photo reconnaissance version of the Hornet. A 20 page maintenance chapter shows the hidden parts of the Hornet like never before, while action shows the jet on the aircraft carrier, on land and in the air.
